IF A RED BLOB APPEARS HERE YOUR SUB IS OVERDUE. PLEASE SEND A CHEQUE FOR £20 (PAYABLE TO TOADS SMC) TO IAIN DOUGLAS AT THE ADDRESS ABOVE TO ENSURE YOUR MEMBERSHIP CONTINUES. THE LAST NEWSLETTER CONTAINED THE FIRST REMINDER. IF PAYMENT IS NOT RECEIVED WE WILL ASSUME YOU NO LONGER WISH TO BE A MEMBER AND WILL REMOVE YOUR NAME FROM THE MEMBERSHIP LIST, BUT OF COURSE WE DO HOPE YOU WISH TO REMAIN A MEMBER.
Please note that sadly, due to less than anticipated support from members, we have had to cancel the fete planned for July 24th. This is rather unfortunate, and we will be looking for other ways of raising funds during the latter part of the year. It is essential the fighting Fund does not grind to a halt and we ask for the support of all members in our efforts. The next newsletter will carry details of various events planned for the autumn. One of the problems we face is that many of our members are involved in so many other shows that once we have finished a show they are reluctant to continue supporting us until the next show, and we do not have a large team of “retired” members willing to beaver away on social events behind the scenes, as TOPS and POADS have. This is the downside of having a younger membership, and means we are unable to raise lots of funds like the other 2 major theatre groups in the bay. We must rectify that situation as a matter of urgency and we ask for the support of all members. It is your society and without your support it will surely cease to function. Please think on these comments and telephone us with your ideas for fund raising events.
