AUTUMN PRODUCTION
A CHORUS LINE (Oct 24-29)

This show needs no introduction. The show is about the auditions for the chorus of a Broadway Musical and celebrates those unsung hero’s of the Broadway stage who back the stars and are always searching for that elusive fame and fortune – the chorus line up. It starts with quite a number of people auditioning for the show with a big routine. The director then picks a few that he wants a closer look at. These few are the characters in the show and in a series of solos and duets we see the director of the show try to find out what makes them tick. Apart from the principals we will require quite a number of people to be in the opening number only. Sarah is looking for a cast in the 18-40 age range (or able to look so) and the main characters should be strong singers and good actors (although the director character doesn’t sing). Dance ability is a plus but maybe not overly necessary for some roles where the routine can be staged to suit the individual talent.

FIRST REHEARSAL / GET TOGETHER – THURSDAY JULY 7th – ST LUKES CHURCH HALL – 7.30 – Production team present. Please come ready to learn the audition dance routine.
2nd REHEARSAL – MONDAY JULY 11th – 7.30
3rd REHEARSAL – THURSDAY JULY 14th – 7.30
Thereafter weekly until floor rehearsals.
AUDITIONS – SUNDAY JULY 17th – 2.30PM
STAGE OF THE LITTLE THEATRE – TORQUAY
EXPENSES : You will be required to pay the following fees.
Sub £20 (if not already paid) (Payable BEFORE auditions)
Appearance fee £15 (rising to £20 if not paid by Early October)
Script Hire Fee - £10 (Payable at first rehearsal or as soon thereafter as possible)
Vocal Part Hire Fee - £5 (Payable at first rehearsal or as soon thereafter as possible)
NEW MEMBERS AUDITIONS
The new members auditions held on June 5th were well attended and of a good standard. The next new members auditions are planned for January just prior to the start of “Summer Holiday” rehearsals.
If you know of anyone aged 16 or over who might be interested in joining for “Chorus Line” and who isn’t a member, give us their details, and after the auditions, if any part remains uncast, we may contact them to audition them. If we do manage to cast the whole show at that stage, then their next chance to join will be at the January new members auditions.
If we do have some auditions after the main auditions for “Chorus Line” they will be advised of the details.V
